It’s Tuesday so that means another Blog!
My review this week is for a product called Colour B4-
Extra.
Product packaging |
A couple of months ago I went to the hairdressers for
a complete change of look. (Bad idea) L Its
winter I thought so what better time to make me feel a little bit better about
myself. I wanted to go shorter so I had a couple of inches cut off. (Oh no it’s
too short now) Never mind it will grow in time for my wedding in August.
The thing that bothered me the most was the colour! I
wanted a vivid warm red. Think Cheryl Cole red but that did not happen.
It looked really promising when she was applying it.
It was a very bright red by Matrix. Well the outcome once she had washed and
dried it was so dark. It was black almost with a hint of red if you were under
a light. (I can’t stand under a spotlight all day can I?)
I’ve tried to live with it but I can’t so I went to Boots to buy Colour B4- extra. The extra strength one is recommended for people with very dark hair or people with a lot of colour build up. CB4 is a little bit more expensive than your average hair dye. Its £11.99. (THIS IS NOT A HAIR DYE just using it as a comparison to price) To have it done at the hair dressers it would cost an average of £60 so a massive saving when you think about it.
I’ve heard great things about this product. Before I
buy anything I watch you tube videos and read other peoples blogs.

This website shows before and after results of others that have also tried it.
As you can see by the picture my hair is VERY dark.
(Too dark)
Before Colour B4 |
I was so scared using this product in case I didn’t
apply it correctly, missed areas or it went orange! Eek. I would recommend
someone else applying it. . (Luckily my lovely fiancé helped me.)
You apply the product just like a hair dye. Apply to
the roots and then all over making sure you comb through the hair with a wide
tooth comb to distribute the liquid evenly. Once you applied all over and you
feel you have a good coverage wrap your hair in cling film and then a towel to
keep the warmth in as cold affects the process. Wait 1 hour and then start the
long buffering process. (I recommend you do this whilst you are in the shower)
The first thing you have to do with the buffering process is rinse the hair for
5-10 minutes depending on length and thickness. Once you have rinsed the hair
and you feel all the solution has gone, apply half of the buffer solution and
lather, leaving it in the hair for a further 1-2 minutes. Rinse again for
another 5-10 minutes and apply the rest of the buffer solution. Lather again
and leave for another 2 minutes. Finally (thank god) rinse as you would with
shampoo and you’re all finished.
I would then dry your hair with the hair dryer to see
the results better as I was worried it hadn’t worked.
So I followed all the steps and wow its very time
consuming. Don’t get me wrong it’s all worth it and the end results are
amazing.
Ta daaa………
After Colour B4 |
I absolutely LOVE the result. It’s lifted the colour a
lot and blended evenly. I like the colour that much I’m going to keep it like
this for a while.

ReplyDeleteNo not at all. It depends on the individual and what colour you have dyed your hair to begin with.
